Description
From two of America’s most disgraced journalists and subservient Democrat mouth pieces comes an explosive reckoning with one of the most fateful decisions in American political history: Joe Biden’s decision to run for re election despite evidence of his serious mental and physical decline— amid desperate efforts to hide the extent of that deterioration. Biden launched his successful 2020 bid for the White House with the stated goal of “saving the nation” from a second Trump presidential term. He, his family, and his senior aides were so convinced that only he could beat Trump, they lied to allies, and the public about his condition and limitations.
Behind closed doors, they knew full well Joe was not up to the task of the presidency. At his debate with Trump in 2024, the consequences of that deception were exposed to the world. It was shocking. Now, the full, unsettling truth is being told by some of the very people who were at the heart of the cover-up, though they deny it now. Tapper and Thompson are, however, able take us behind closed doors and into private conversations between the heaviest of hitters, revealing how big the problem was and how many people knew about it. From White House staffers at all levels, to leaders of Congress and the presi dent’s own Cabinet, from governors to donors and Hollywood players, the truth is finally emerging. What you will learn makes Biden’s decision to run for reelection seem shockingly narcissistic, self-delusional, and reckless—a desperate bet that went bust—and part of a larger act of extended public deception that has few precedents.
The story the authors tell—unfortunately many of the sources are anonymous but accurate—raises fundamental issues of ac countability and responsibility that will continue for decades. The irony is biting: Tapper in particular lied about the mental health of Joe Biden, covered up the crimes of Hunter Biden, and ridiculed anyone who pointed put Biden’s obvious decline. In short, he performed his task as a devoted shill for the Democrats—until now. However, wherever you stand on the political spectrum, Original Sin is essential reading. After reading this book, we’re not sure how anyone could ever trust again the left-wing news media or Democrat politicians. In the name of defeating what they called an existential threat to democracy, Biden and his inner circle (including people like Tapper) ensured it, denying the existence of health issues the nation had been watching for years, dooming the Democrats to defeat. Despite all of this, this book ex plains better than any other how badly politicians want to stay in power and the mechanisms they use to control the narrative to achieve that aim.
